Auto-sign templates
What is it
Auto sign templates streamlines document workflows by removing the need for manual signature step.
When enabled on a template, any document created from that template is automatically signed at the moment of creation - no separate request or collection is required.
Key benefits:
-
Faster processes: Documents are ready instantly, reducing delays caused by missing or absent signatories
-
Built-in compliance: Every document carries a valid signature by default, ensuring compliance is guaranteed by design.

How it works
Using auto sign templates involves three steps:
- Activate auto sign on a template
- Verify that it is enabled
- Create a document from the template
1. Activate auto sign on a template
The setting must be managed on each template individually. This means for each template you should:
Navigate to the template you want to modify (either edit an existing template or create a new one).
On the template detail page, locate the 'Automatically sign as issuer' option, which appears just below the 'Default template' setting.
Toggle or check this option to enable auto-sign for that template.

2. Verify auto sign on a template
In the template list, any template with auto sign enabled displays a blue signature icon. This icon appears both on templates you created yourself and on templates that have been shared with you.
Alternatively, you can open the template and check whether the “Automatically sign as issuer” toggle is active.

3. Create documents from the template
Once auto sign is enabled on a template, every document you create from it will be automatically signed during creation.
You can continue creating documents as usual, whether from the platform or the mobile app.
Key details to know:
-
Signing party is locked: Usually, templates allow you to edit fields before creating a document. With Auto Sign enabled, the signing party is fixed and cannot be changed. For example, in an eCMR, the consignor field is locked.
-
Signature applied instantly: The signature is applied automatically in the background as soon as the document is created.
-
No manual signing step: Because the document is already signed, the signature stage in the workflow is skipped entirely.
